Default Meth Injection vs Intercooler Sprayer?

I don't know much about this stuff, but I keep reading that a Meth Inj system is recommended to go over 300 whp. Well would an Intercooler Spray bar work the same, or is it not good enough? Can someone please explain the benefits that a Meth Inj system has over a Spray bar? Thanks for the help.

with a spraybar (cry02 kit correct?) you are going to cool the air coming in your engine. its like running your car in the summer and your engine thinks its winter. so, colder air equals more horsepower and its easier on your engine.

with water/meth, you will be doing the same thing but you will be spraying meth and water to do the same effects. meth will raise your octaine levels but at the same time, it will make your car run rich. thats whats good about meth is that you can tune your car for it and pull more timing. thats where your going to get your real hp from

Ok that helps. But If I wanted to up my boost to about 22 or 23 will the spray bar keep the air cool enough? I guess I'm just trying to find out if the Injection is actually needed, or if I can use what I got.

If your going to tune your car, raise intake pressure, change timing curve, cut fuel, etc... WI is really a plus. Can't say it enough though. If your going to tune and WI is a part of the tune make sure you have a fail-safe. At a minimum cut boost if your WI system fails.
Peace

if you really want hp, you need to go water/meth ant get your self tuned for it.

but the cry02 kit has 3 ways of spraying if your really serious about this. they have a fuel freezer (freezes your fuel line), intercooler sprayer, and an air cooler.

the fuel freezer is a bar that fits over your fuel rail and freezes it so its a cool charge in your cylinders. the intercooler sprayer looks like a laso that goes over your intercooler and sprays to cool the air. and the last one is a piece of 3" pipe that has a tear drop shaped bulb that the 02 is sprayed into so that the passing air will freeze as it passes it. it is aerodynamically designed to let air pass through fast.

Ok well I'm seriously concidering getting the meth inj, but one more question. I'm sure it has been brought up before, but could I use both? Say I have the Intercooler sprayer set to only spray at WOT, will it affect my Meth Inj Sys? Or would I need to tune for that to?

So is it safe to spray straight Meth with these systems, or does it have to be Water/Meth?

My intercooler sprayer draws from the washer res so the IC get RainX. I use 40%methanol and 60%water mixed in my WI system. I'm Stage3 with the DCR mod turbo. No knock with 93 octaine fuel at 23-24 psi boost and the S3"s HOM

Just a note;
Today I switch to 50% isopropyle alcohol and 50% distilled water. and 89 octaine fuel. We'll see how that works. No knock on the ride home but bogged a little at high boost levels and low rpm. Iospro is deffenently not the same as methanol.
Good Luck

You will make more power with meth injection than you will with a ic chiller hands down.
