hopefully that clears it up for you

when you wire up a relay you need to understand how it works.there are two sides to a relay, the coil side and the control side.by adding power and ground to pins 85 and 86 the magnetic field latches the relay so that you complete the circuit from pin 30 to pin 87.

so in your case you want to ground control your pump so you want the ground to the coil side of the relay to go through your safety which in this case is the pressure switch. that has two methods of control..nc and no. you want no because you want the circuit to be normally open until you hit the preset pressure of the switch then it will complete the circuit and the coil side of the relay will have a path to ground and let power go from pin 30 to pin 87 and on to the pump.

you also want the led on the control side of the circuit so that it comes on only when the circuit is active.

i would also suggest putting a level unit in your meth tank as well and wire that up to a relay so it comes on when the fluid level is low

That makes complete sense. Thank you so much for taking the time and drawing up the diagram. One question, i dont have a resitor for the LED. Sould I wait to get one or is it ok to test it without the resistor
