I bought the coolingmist setup - I'm looking for locations to mount the tank. One idea I thought of would be to mount it vertically on the seat back. (pull the seat down to fill it, put the seat back up for use) I'm wondering if this would work?
I wasn't sure if the pump needed to lay horizontal for any specific reason. I did a search, but haven't seen this setup or an answer to this question.
There are two grommets in the trunk at the rear on either side. I mounted mine off to the left side so it's out of the way of anything I want to throw in the trunk. The lines run down through that grommet.
I guess maybe it's not clear what I'm asking. I have two SUBS in the rear of my car, so room is limited. My METH tank I wanted to mount on the SEAT BACK. I didn't know if this would affect how the pump worked or if the cap was sealed. I received my kit today, it does appear there is a small hole in the cap, I'm guessing this is so air can release as the pump is taking in the METH. This is for the coolingmist setup, I've already seen DO kits mounted to the seat back, but this is an entirely different setup.
I'd mount a normal tank on the seatback but not a trunkmount. Shoot if you fill it up 2/3 of the way it'll be leaking out the cap if it's mounted vertically. Besides I don't think the straps can hold the trunkmount when it's full of fluid if it's mounted on a vertical wall.
You could just get a normal tank. It would still leak out the hole in the cap when you lowered the seatback but you could mount it elsewhere or just not lower the seat back.
thanks yo, I might have put it smack dab in the middle if it weren't for the fact I can take everything home from college in my stripped car including my bike and do so occasionaly. And the fact that I'd have to make the line/wires run through the car or else double back and do a 180.
7055, bro that looks pretty in the way if you ask me!
Mine's kind of an ugly duckling with the loose wiring and stripped carpet lol. That one above looks clean though. I wonder how he mounted it without the straps.
