Default coolingnist pump leaking

so i got a pump from a good friend and got it hooked up and everything and it leaks all over my trunk wasting all my methanol. the leak is from the top part by the electrical connections i took the top part off and it has a lil spring and evertyhing up there so i was just wondering if anyone had had this leak before and how they fixed it.i'm thinking i'm just gona put a lil o ring and some rtv up top right under the plastic piece with the spring.

If the screws are loose around that switch it can cause a leak there, also if the seals went out that can cause it too. If you take the pump apart you will see an obvious tear if the seal is bad.

ok cool so anything i should know before i tear it apart? are the seals anything special for your pumps or should i be able to find a fairly common seal that'll work for me? also i took the line off of the pump going too the nozzle after it was't getting pressure and it looks like the pump is getting alot of air and stuff in it i'm thinking that would mean that the seals are bad also

It requires a specific seal from shurflo. You can find the model # on the pump and call SHURflo First in Fluid Innovation Pump Manufacturing and they can tell you where to get seals assuming you find that is your problem.

David, this is my old pump actually. I gave it to him and he is aware that it leaked, which is why I replaced it. I told him we could try to fix it, but he moved before we actually had the chance to pull it apart.

so i got it all fixed now just a real thin layer of rtv on a couple of the seals and it works perfect. now i gotta hang out with my tuning buddy and put in some bigger injectors and 3 bar sensors and then i can see how my lil e1 can hang with mana.

I think you should delete this thread, totally pointless especially you knew the pump leaks in the first place.

Title is misleading.
