The kit isn't here yet, but I had a few questions about setup...

If needed, I'll have to use the W/I as a way to enrich my fueling up top.

Can I set the controller up in 2D mode now or is it advisable to just make a basic connection and use it in 1D mode?

This should be interesting...

You can absolutely set it to run in 2D mode. All Vari-Cool controllers can do this. You will need a USB to serial converter and Window XP, NT or 2000 computer (Vista is not supported at this time). 2D mode is when you need more than 1 input to keep extra flow up top and none or very limted flow down low.

Okay the kit got here earlier than I thought! It was outside my door..lol

I didn't even hear anything...

Props to FedEx for timely delivery!

Okay, so I opened the box and I see everything inside. The Blue Wire goes to 0-5v source correct?

Where would I run from the vaccum port? Tee it into one of MY NEW VACCUM LINES?

Thanks again for the fast shipping!

Where do I download the software??

Yes the instruction page will show you the wiring, but the blue is the signal. You can use the vacuum line that is connected to your boost gauge.

okay. in stalled my trunkmount today. took about 2hrs or so. i didnt have directions that came with the kit, so i was confused on a few things. first...when i filled up the tank...i noticed it started leaking all over my trunk....ther is a hole in the middle of the tak beside the pump with a 1inch of hose on it...kinda like a breather....it started leakin kinda bad from ther..so i plugged it to stop. wat should i do about it? next is how do i really know the pump is runnin? neway to check it without boosting? also i had to buy 15ft of vac line...was that soposed to be included with the kit?(if not its cool, just makin sure) other than these few quick questions, i have nothin but good things to say about the ease of instal with coolingmist.

That 1 inch tube should be connected to the fitting on the drinking side of the pump. if you are looking dead on to the pump, on the left is the 1 inch vacuum hose that drinks the fluid, it should be connected to the 90 degree fitting, its what drinks the water. Let me know if that makes sense.

In this picture you will notice that the tube is NOT conntected to the fitting, the tube should be connected. Can you confirm if that is your problem?

No it did not hurt the pump, you can run the pump dry all day long.

Its connected and working.

Just making sure you can connect the TPS and the Vaccum port together for 2D mode. So if I connect the vaccum hose up to the port, it will automatically switch to this mode of operation or so I have use a serial to USB cable to turn that on in the controller?

What are talking about is special control mode. That is detailed in the software instructions after you installed the software. That is a software only function. let me detail to you the features and see if this helps. Below the boost port is a recessed switch. If that switch is to the left if will run off of the boost port ONLY. If its to the right it will run off the 0-5V input only. When it runs off the 0-5V input, the green knob will mean min voltage and the red will be max voltage. In otherwords you will need to divide the knob #'s by 6. So 30=5. In otherwords, if you set the min knob at 15 and the max knob at 30 and are running off the 0-5V, the system will turn on at 2.5 V and be at max flow at 5 V.

Now to your question, if that doesnt rock your world you can hook up our free software. To get our software go here and you will see a link:

http://coolingmist.com/info.aspx?key=controllerinstall

To run in 2D mode you will need to get a USB to serial adapter. From there you can set the system to ignore the switch on the side of the box and let you run in 2 D mode. You can use the boost port as the Primary or secondary and the same with the 0-5V. So you can make it vary the flow off boost, but only when the voltage is above a certain amount OR you can make it run off voltage but only when above a certain boost.

Hope that helps.

Okay and what about the trim knob in the middle?

We set it up on TPS and it tried to drown the engine with water, lol

We trimed it back by increasing the green knob. I kept adjusting until the bog went away. Its marked "17" on the controller is that about right? The red knob is set at "21" and I turned the grey knob down a bit as well. The bog is completely gone and the car does pull better than before.

I would talk about gains, but it was late, the car was hot and we got 12hp/22ft gain out of it using straight distilled water. But Dynopaks are not ego strokers so the numbers are on the low side.

We'll see what happens tomorrow...
