I just have the basic Coolingmist kit.
I have replaced the boost switch once before, and I believe its out again.
I switch the wires, so it runs anytime, and the pump runs. I put it back to how it should be, and I go make some runs, and my tank hasnt moved levels.
So I believe the switch is bad once again. What kind of suggestions do I have for this? Just get a 3rd switch? Or what are other people running.
I just use the meth to keep knock down.
is it getting wet? did you check the hose going to the switch? remove the switch and blow air into it, do you hear a whistling sound?
boost switches are a simple mechanical switch. They are not the most robust part out there. They are meant to be inexpensive and replaceable. Having said that, we have had customers running them for years without issue.
If you really want to test it, remove the boost switch and put air to it with a hand pump. do you hear a click? If you hear a click your boost switch is fine. If you dont, its likely bad.
yes, a window switch is nothing more than a switch. You may need a relay but it can be done. in your situation I think boost is better, but you can do RPM.
The problem with RPM based injection is: What happens if you do a hard downshift?
Bam, injection with the throttle plate closed. Unless you also have a throttle reference too. At which point you are getting sort of complex for whats supposed to be a simple system.
For a basic non-progressive system, boost is the best parameter 90% of the time.
Well I know that Dynotune has a window switch that will only open IF RPMs are where they should be, and IF it is WOT. Used to have it on my nitrous set up.
Heres a link, 100 bucks.
I can't find my test light, i'm hoping it's just a wire or ground.
AFRs went to 12.0-12.3 and 3kr. Not too bad!
First check to see if your injector is clogged. If you have our controller kit remove the hose to the injector, turn the key to the "ON" position and then ground the black pump wire to the chasis. If it sprays when you do that, your injector is clogged. Its the #1 scenerio.
If you do that test and it does not spray but the pump vibrates, you have air in the line and need to purge it. Remove the checkvalve and put back on (after you fill the tank).
could be boost switch, could be something else, but the two I outlined above will be the most likely.
