The bandaid thing is left over phrase from tuners and users from years ago. Tuners using this phrase as a reason to dismiss it now do not really understanding it or are otherwise just adding it on without really understanding things.
Its also a phrase that applies to the very basic W/A kits being used in a manner which they should not. Years ago when Corkey Bell and others made that statement every kit out there was very limited and 99% were made using off the shelf hardware store type stuff. W/A injection technology has dramatically changed since then. If a tuner is still thinking that way ask him what W/A kits he/she has worked with.

W/A injection allows a tuner to extract hidden potential being left on the table thats there to protect the engine. Used properly, with quality W/A injection components AND with a proper W/A fail safe functionality, its can be made an integral part of a tune.
The factory dumps fuel to protect and tuners remove some of this and tweak for added on upgrades. With W/A injection tuners can go further. Give a good tuner quality hardware and they will trust things and go further then what they would without W/A injection...................its not a bandaid for bad tuning if the tuner knows what he/she is doing.
There's a very good tuner here in NJ that I know of who has no problems getting that out of a W/A injection system without pushing the envelope.
To the OP, without tuning for methanol injection you are best leaving the mix to a 50/50 max, use a basic kit and do things in a basic way. you will realize the benefit and enjoy things for the money spent
