Vaporized fuel injection system?
Has anyone ever heard of VFIS? (Vaporized fuel injection system). The theory is to turn your gas into vapors to inject instead of liquid droplets of gasoline. This has merit due to the fact that the internal combustion engine doesn't actually run on liquid gasoline but mereley the vaporized/atomized particles the injectors turn the gas into. This is the reason why you can "flood" the car with gas and it won't start. The current injectors do a decent job at atomizing and spraying a fine mist, but still isn't quite as efficient as it could be. By applying either heat or vaccum to the fuel, it will vaporize. The article explains this a lot better than I could. It already has a patent and sits on the governments "black shelf". I have already got my lawn mower to run on just these fumes but it reved like a mad machine until I put a control valve on the vapor line. The only problem I see is with the current ECU/O2 sensor setup on modern cars. The o2 sensor will detect more oxygen and think the engines running lean and dump fuel. This can be easily overcomed by todays fuel controllers. Please take the time to search this and read for yourself and comment. I believe the address is Auto Technology: Direct Gasoline Injection and Vaporized Fuel Injection
