Default SW Fuel pressure gauge problem

Im using a maximum performance Stewart Warner fuel pressure gauge and just hooked it all up. Sending unit and everything else was installed correctly, now before i installed the sending unit my old gauge on my FPR was reading 40psi. With the new FP gauge when i turn the car on it reads 30 psi, if i drive a little and boost it goes up to around 38 and stays there even at idle.

The gauge also doesnt rise until i hit at least 10 psi and then it only rises 3-5 psi. Anybody else had these problems when installing a FP gauge with an electric sending unit?? Any help would be awesome, knowing my actual FP might help out a little when tuning
