IMHO Unleaded 105. Anything higher in octane then that is a waste on your stock setup.

I ran 110 leaded on my stock turbo, usually cam2 or turbo blue. My car loved that stuff!

Unless you've tuned your car to take advantage of added octane (higher boost, more timing, etc..) then anything above premium pump gas is a waste of money.

What kind of "damage" are you worried about?

leaded fuel will build up on sensors (o2) and running a super high octane can result in very high EGT's and a loss of power if you don't tune for it

so your answer is a stock un-modded car 93 oct
stock modded (clamped) W/ high boost 97+ oct depending on the clamp

remember higher oct burns slower (and has a higher flash point ) so it will do almost the same thing as retarding your ignition if misused

86 octane piss, thats what I run, spiking to 30+psi, holding 28, with 40 degrees of timing, with no knock. I was running a 12.9-1 AFR, hoping to lean it out to about a 14-1, 1800-1900 degree exhaust temps FTW see if I can pick up a extra 20 or so HP!!!!

Actually, if you don't re-tune for higher octane your car will just run rich...

Also, race gas doesn't burn any slower than regular pump gas it simply takes more energy to initially light-off.

Meatman, go to the Performance Modifications forum on this board ( Performance Modifications - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum ) check out the "stickies" section & read up on the basic modifications / go-fast how to's.

yup actual flame propagation speed has little to do with the octane rating, but i always feel people can understand this better

and i would recommend some good books not the srt forums sticky section

If you're stock then I think 93 or slightly higher is the best. I had knock on 91 & 92 bone stock according to my scangauge. I think it helped my traps a little with the higher octane because it wasn't pulling timing. You can't hurt your car from running to much octane but you can from to little.

, I was getting ready to make a comment but you beat me to it. I wonder if we should confuse them now with specific weight gravity of fuels and how that effect the total flow numbers and flame propagation?

OP, don't waste the money on the race gas unless you know you have knock. Spend the money on a good gauge or scan tool to measure knock.
