Default Possible 255 pump failure ???

The past 2 weeks the pump has been sounding a lil' rough and slower when starting the car in the mourning, and takes more cranks to starts it up.

But when driving it drives well. No bucking at all. No fuel codes either.
Then today after installing a smaller hot side housing on the turbo and wanted to take the car out for a spin....it just cranked and cranked and cranked did not turn on, there was gas in the tank but then I check the rail and pressed in the valve on the shrader valve NO gas came out.

So its my conclusion that the pump has finally failed.

LMK what you think guys

Fuel mods:
-DW 650's
-Walbro 255
-stock FPR
-PtP re-wire
-Grantelli wires/Champ. plugs/stock coil
-safc2

...and damn its hard to find a pump and only a pump on a weekend.

found one though

Can you hear the pump coming on at all when you turn the key on? If you can hear it, then listen for what happens afterwards, it could be leaking from the stock fpr back into the tank which is why you'd have no pressure. Since you've already got that other pump tho (good find on a weekend lol) then I'd say just replace the pump and see what happens. If you get the same problem I'd definitely say check out the regulator

bitts, I just had something of the same probably with mine. My car would run fine but I was running out of fuel while boosting, which never happened before. FRL + S2 inj + 255lph walboro = Plenty of fuel for more than 26 psi on my E1 turbo.

I thought it was the fuel pump as well since my aftermarket FPR was struggling to get the fuel pressure up. Though it was my pump going as well so ordered a new one from Modern. Installed it and looked at the stock FPR after the install and saw the material I used to seal it up had a hole in it. Sealed it back up and made sure it was packed good this time, and problem solved.

For that matter, I have my old 255 lph fuel pump sitting here that is still good, just figured since I had a new one I might as well install it after going through the trouble of taking the old one out. If you want it let me know. Figure shipping cost + $20 for it. It was in the car for about 2 years so it is up to you. Just figured a low cost replacement for ya.

You too bitts?

Mine is hard starting. I don't even hear the pump turn on when I turn the key! The car will start if I turn the key on and off several times. I did have the PTP FPR Mod in the car. Car started acting weird so I pulled it out and one of the O-rings was sliced! Car ran good for about 2 days after installing it then problems. I put my stock FPR back in and I am having the same problems.

The car will start but I don't hear the pump turn on when I turn the key to the on position. What the hell could be wrong?

i have had 2 255's fail on me......and they failed bad.....but each time it was due to an internal leak inside the tank......i fixed the leak and it ran good for a while.....leak came back....pump went out........fixed it for good and installed a dcr 255......have not had a problem since

I got my issue figured out. The O-ring on the end of the stem on the FPR was cracked. Replaced with a PTP O-ring and runs fine now!

I could not hear the pump upon inatial start ~nothing, no whinning at all, no fuel in the rail either

Well the pump I though I got from a friend of a friend was gonna be the right one but its not the correct one

_It was worth shot_

It was from a 98' GST brand new, got it for 10$ went to go swap it out and no go, the conection pins are diffrent and the filter are not in the same location etc etc... OH weeeell.

Ill check to stock FPR but I doubt its leaking.

Its either I bite the bullet and pay $200+ plus at (Napa, AutoZone, Pep Boys ...) for the whole assembly or stop by the local performance shop tomarrow and see if they carry any...

Ohh and iam the 2nd owner of the pump so it has around 45k or so on there.

!Fuck! stupid pump.
