Default How is a modified Walbro pump beneficial over a standard walbro 255?

I see DCR is having a GB on their 'modified' pump..

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f312...hipped-436795/

my 255 walbro crapped out on me on friday at the track and Im running a back-up s3 pump at the moment.

So how is this beneficial for me??

I ve read what they've done.. but... wtf? lol i m still lost.

nah I'm good...don't see the point in it anyways. I'll stick with my unmolested walbro and if it goes out then there's a guy on ebay sellin em for 79.99 now lol

The point is if you need just a little more fuel at those pressures, why not instead of buying a new larger pump.

$80, Yeah for the knockoffs, thats the other thing you have to look out for on the walbro's.

LP pumps are not good for our cars. The eff falls off on anything over 62 psi worth of pressure. We need HP pumps for our cars in order to keep the motor feed.

You can also knock the return ball and spring out of the top of the pump as well. This will allow an unrestriced flow of fuel out of the pump vs having to run around the seat, spring and needle assembly. I takes more crank time to get the car started but I like that, it makes sure you have some oil pressure in the system before start up.

Next you can hard wire the pump also. This allows for more voltage to the pump and gets rid of the resistor block in the 12 volt power feed side.
