Default gas gauge might be off

I just replaced my fpr and fuel pump. When I did this, I had about 1.5 gallons of gas left. When everything was installed and I started the car, it said I had 3.5 gallons in the tank. So I filled the tank with 3 gallons to see if it was reading correctly and the gauge registered 6.5 gallons.
I think I damaged the gauge in the tank though. When I filled up today, the gauge read 3.5 gallons before and I got 10.3 gallons of gas to fill the tank.
If it's broken, can I just replaced that arm on the stg3 pump assembly? Can I do it with the stg0 assembly since it's just the gauge?

I believe twisting the whole fuel module to the left may fix your problem. There is a little play when the module is in 'correctly'.

Just loosen the retaining ring enough to twist the module (making sure the alignment tab is in at the top)

I think I twisted too far to the left. I didn't feel the alignment tab in the gas tank before I tightened everything up. Gotta burn the gas and then retry it.
