Fuel system bottleneck fix, Feed line Mod

ALL THESE PARTS CAN BE FOUND AT
www.summitracing.com
www.jegs.com
for around 80-85 bucks maybe less
dont forget my free instructions at the bottom and ME online i can help you with anything if i have time just ask

Recently people have had some fuel problems. I had a problem getting enough fuel up top (higher RPMS) weather it was my pump or how I had done things I am not sure. What I do know is that the fix that was pointed out to me has helped my car in so many ways.

This removes the 1/8 feed bottle neck coming off the pump and using the stock filter, FPR when going to a return line

Drivability is better, tuning became much easier. And no more fuel problems

Below is a small picture of what was done

I am also going to try and include a parts list.

If you have any questions on what was done please feel free to ask

This is not 100% my original idea some of this info was taken from PSI FI, and a spool boy feed setup from neons.org

All I did was question the current setup and how I thought that it had to be a problem and needed help coming up with a solution

All prices are from summit

If you need more fuel then above continue forward off the filter with -6 to a boomba fuel rail or lorenzo fuel rail

if you need more fuel. then this you can do the pump rewire

if you need more fuel then this add an external walbro 255. this came from Ben @agp

if you need more then all of that you can add a inline areomotive 1000

Awesome man. Let me ask you this, would this setup work with replacing the walbro I have in there already entirely with an aeromotive 1000? Will that aeromotive even fit in the stock location?

i dont think the aeromotive is a intank pump

you have 2 options

do this and use the walbro 255+ the aeromotive on the outside i think that will work. i would not do it without removing the bottleneck

or

get a pickup, and fab a bracket, point the pickup to the location of the factory pickup/sock. use the braket to hold the pickup in place do this mod to the outside of the tank where your 1000 pump will be

I would myself do this, and add a external walbro 255 inline. and do -6 to a rail off the rail -6 to aeromotive regulator -4 or -6 back to tank.

also get a boomba or lorenzo rail.

maybe even do the voltage rewire to both pumps

your running a crazy setup scooby. Ben said something about an intank and external combined should be like 800 hp worth of fuel.

As soon as I read the title I thought of Dennis before I read the thread. He was the 1st to my knowledge to get this mod working on the 2.4 turbo 1st gen

I've got pics of Pablo's set-up running a SX1000 similar to the A1000.

Its actually not much more involved than the diagram Vector has provided.

I only know him or it as a spoolboy setup. its great info but was just sitting over on neons.org gathering dust.

This is a collection of his info, psi fi and mine and ben@agp

I myself really like how well the car works now. when i removed the stock FPR i about shit when i saw the size of the hole i was trying to feed my motor with fuel through

Ha... if you wanna get technical I said go 3/8ths aluminum hardline from the filter to the engine bay... lighter and safer in one package

But yeah I am glad the hour I spent finding the parts that were needed helped out!

Vector are you removing the stock filter/reg completely?

If you are how are you getting the bulk head to seal properly? Did you take any pics of the tank lid?

I was just going to drill another hole like I did for the return for the external pump.

I filled the stock filter /reg with JB water weld and put a cap on it its just a plug

i drilled a hole as close to inline with the top of the pump as i could. much like you would if you did a return to this location

no i never seem to ahve a camera around when i need to take pics
