i posted in the sticky, but i dont think it gets much traffic on page 120 lol. basically i was wondering if its feasible for the stock fuel system to just be completely removed and replaced with ss line and a/m parts. i did it on my galant vr4 since the fuel system was basically one hunk of rust, so i was wondering if i can do it to the srt too. basically its a rewired walbro 255 to ss line up to a fuelab filter then fed into the rail off the other side goes to the fpr then return line into the tank. also ive only really worked with braided lines, but i know they have push fit hoses so i was wodnering if there is any advantage to the push fit stuff, or just stick with braided. of course braided looks cooler (just that little piece of rice in me lol) but push fit seems like it would be easier. any thoughts?

depends. i have a full no stock spart left fuel system. all SS lines with a 044 pump. cost alot but if you need the fuel then you have to do it.
depends on your performance mods if its worth it....

^^^ hellz ya son. ill save the reading for tomorrow since i will need something to do during my bored half day of work. i have built a fuel system before, never got too deep into tuning it, just used a static pressure. my plans for this car are to hit 500whp someday, obviously a long way down the road. and i know that having a fuel system to handle it all is a good thing to have done. thanks for the info nacho

I bought my SRT-4 brand new - 3 miles on the ODO, 4 after the wash and lot to lot movements before I took delivery. I test drove the beater SRT, loved it, wife drove it, loved it. Bought it for greensheet + 400.00 17,800 was the final cost, paid cash. Drove it stock for a long ass time, learned how to maintain it, and drive it. Started with teh basics, CAI and hard pipes, hated the stock BOV so I got my HKS SSQV. I rocked that set up on stock boost levels for a a couple of years. 250 whp 263ftlbs owned face! lol. I decided to eliminate the stock noids and simplify the vac system, add in a simple EBC so I could control boost and dail it in on the dyno. I didnt have any real tuning method yet and I didnt like the map clamp results - BOOM - So I dialed it in at a safe boost level for the stock computer. Just reset and let it learn on the dyno! lol. I was pushing 18 pounds and almost 280 whp, it was a blast. Drove it like that for about 2 years. I was planning... I saved my scratch, sold off some old hobbies and started working toward a build. I'm happy to say I have a good solid job, and my budget is intact and flowing! This past year I went road racing, I've been to touring Clubs and a few HPDE's along the way, but, I went Road Racing, learning from the better drivers around here. Wanting to build something that can be competitive and allow me a nice focus outlet thats not work related. ![]() so I racked up the track miles this year and am refining the car to meet my wants and needs. I am going to try and run in excess of 5000 track miles in 2010, I really want the seat time. I'd like to do a 1 Lap of America in 2011. Thats a minor history of my resume with the srt-4. I love love love this car. NachO |

Hey Nacho, How did you secure the pump in that location? Did you just put a couple self tapping screws through the clamps, tack weld, or what? Does the pump being exposed to the elements hurt anything? I was considering at least clear coating it for a little protection, but I dont know if its neccesary?

I drilled through 2 worm clamps and mounted them to the frame. The 044 is weatherproof, but, a coat of clear wouldnt hurt it I'd say. NachO |
