Almost any performance company makes them. You can usually pic them up at your local peformance or hot rod shop or through jegs or summit. Very easy to find.

Anyone who has done a bottle neck mod should have done this. I believe mines an earls filter. It's been a couple of years since I did it so I could be wrong.

The rated filter size is the "smallest" particle that will be stopped. Therefore a 40 micron filter will prevent smaller bits from passing through than a 100 micron filter.

Keep in mind that smaller meshes may "filter" more effectively, but will need cleaning more often and may have a minimal negative effect on fuel flow and pressure.

That's why I'd recommend using an inline filter that is approximately twice the size of your line and purchasing adapters for the ends. IE: -6 AN fuel feed, use a -12 AN filter. Verify the actual size of the filter, as some -6 and -8 AN filters are the exact same body/filter element with different machined adapters.

If your gonna have one that needs cleaning, where's the best spot to locate it? I'm guessing thgh, closer to the pump means better flow or it doesn't matter?

You may be able to find one with a shutoff, but it would probably be fairly expensive. In my setup I have it screwed right into the fuel rail inlet. Its going to be a very minor restriction regardless of where it is in the line. Your best bet would be to have it above the fuel tank, if possible, so the whole thing doesnt drain out if you open up the filter element.

If it's going to be below the level of the fuel tank I'd highly recommend a shutoff.
