Default AMSoil Series 2000 Octane Boost. Try it at your own risk. I did. lmao

Since I use all AMSoil fluids in my car I decided to try their octance boost to see if it would help lower my knock reading on my Scan gauge. Let me start by saying I always use Shell V-Power 93 octane and have since I bought it new. I bought my Scan Gauge Pro a few months ago(AWESOME PRODUCT !) and have been schooling myself on it as my free time allows. Two things I started to pay a lot of attention to was my O2 millivolts to have an idea of my AFR's(until I got my wideband this past week but still need to install) and my Knock Retard. My O2 millivolts usually stay between 900-920's(but has dropped in the high 890's several times) and my KR ranges from 1-3.5 but has hit 5 on a few occasions and all #'s are taken at WOT. I had to go get my supply of AMSoil products today and decided to try their octane boost. I ran my almost completely out of gas(it took 12 gals to fill it up) dumped the bottle of AMSoil Series 2000 Octane Boost in and filled it up with 93 octane. My ride home was awesome, as it's an all interstate 45 minute ride. I ran the car as hard as I've ever run it and had fantastic results.
At WOT from 3rd-5th several(I mean SEVERAL) times my O2 millivolts stayed between 904-910 and my KR stayed at 0.0 the whole way ! I was impressed to say the least. I hit 140mph a few times but while I was concentrating on the O2 and KR I would top it off around 120-125mph and 130 a couple times.lol. Bottom line, THIS IS SOME GOOD SHIT

I spoke to an AMSoil tech guy and he could'nt find anything saying it did, but rest assured I will find out if it does. With all the crap people are putting in their cars I don't think one 12oz bottle of AMSoil Octane Boost will hurt anything. I promise to find out if it had anything in it that we are'nt supposed to run in our cars. You have my word ! It is possible that it has MMT in it, I cannot say for certain but I will not rest until I know the absolute truth about the contents and will let everyone know as soon as I do !

Well, I finally spoke to someone at AMSoil today to see if their Octane Boost contains MMT and I'm sad to say it does and I will not recommend anyone uses it. Although they will be emailing me the concentration of MMT in the Octane Boost it does'nt make much difference. I will say this though, I put in one 12oz bottle Saturday and it took 12 gallons of Shell 93 to fill it up and I've had the best O2 millivolt(AFR's) and knock retard readings my Scan Gauge Pro has ever seen ! So today I filled up again, only took 6 gallons this time and went for a little spin. Even after being diluted with another 6 gals of 93 everything stayed the same, more power, perfect AFR's and zero knock !
I plan on going home via the interstate every evening this week to see when the effects of the AMSoil Octane Boost start to diminish and I will keep the thread updated.

Default An email I received from AMSoil about their Series 2000 Octane Boost and my reply.

After speaking with our laboratory director, unfortunately we cannot give out the amount of MMT in our formulation of the Octane Boost. We can say that, it will not affect the emissions components if used properly.

The reason for recommending it for racing or off-road use is due to the cost-effectiveness. With the price per bottle, it would be more expensive to run for the everyday driver; it would cost less for them to run a higher octane fuel.

However, if your owner?s manual states that you are not to use products with MMT in the formulation due to damage of some sort, we recommend against the use of our Octane Boost. It may or may not cause damage, but we wouldn?t recommend using it.

Hope this answers your questions,

HERE IS THE REPLY EMAIL i SENT TODAY:

In your email you say " it will not affect the emissions components if used properly."
What do you consider proper use ? As I stated to you over the phone, many owners of the Dodge SRT- 4 race it off road and have exhasust systems without catylitic converters, so the only emissions part I can think of at risk would be the Oxygen Sensors(O2 sensors).
These people use 100 - 116 octane race gas that is over $6.00 a gallon and mix a couple gallons of that with 93 octane premium unleaded gasoline, so your Octane Boost would actually be more cost effective. Is MMT known to leave deposits anywhere in the engine, emissions components or emissions sensors ?
