I'm having an issue with my wideband aem. I got the car about a week ago and noticed on WOT pulls it will show lean, the gauge says "---" and if I let off and blip the throttle is come back to normal. This only happens in the upper rpm range. I will attach a video link.
They all run fine until they decide not to.
You could try a new sensor. Look at your plugs though to see how things are burning in the cylinders.
Yea I guess I'm gonna try to replace it. Just gotta fine one that I don't need to order from Aem. And this is the plug I pulled today I haven't got to the rest of them.
Porcelain looks kind of White/Lean, no detonation though. How many miles on the plugs? It looks like a Iridium?
You should try NGK 4306s, start with a gap of about .035.
Test the sensor by taking it out of the exhaust, keying the car into on and wrapping a rag soaked in brake clean around it (doesn't take too much). Should go to 10.0 and stay there - if it goes away from 10.0 to dead lean (---) replace the sensor.
Did you remove that plug at the top of an pull after shutting the engine off? If you drove around normally and pulled the plug you're getting the entire story.
You can't drive around with the plugs and expect to get an accurate reading of them. You have to do a pull and shut the car off at the top of the pull.
The one in my evo did the exact same thing. You can get just the bosch sensor it self there is part # floating around the net somewhere for it. was like 85 dollars.
On my aem wideband the number is 17025. You will have to order it cause if you go to your local parts store it comes up something else. Got mine from Amazon here is what I got Amazon.com: Bosch 17025 Oxygen Sensor: Automotive mine would Stat out ok them would read all - - - I could give it gas and it would come in but go right back to the dashes.
Sorry guys I just got back from vacation ... But I will get this done this week. And thank you for tha part number and all. I believe I have the older Aem gauge bc mine only goes down to a 11 vs 10 I see on some others. I wish I woulda kept my old srt4 :/. You live and learn I guess
