Order ships on January 3, 2007 from our supplier, via UPS, 1z1601xx0347369262, package arrives and is delivered on January 9, 2007.

Customer now places a PayPal dispute on our account on March 31, 2007. We receive this email from PayPal.

We were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback and asked their card issuer to reverse a payment made to you.

Although a chargeback may appear to be similar to a PayPal claim, it is actually a process initiated outside of PayPal and controlled by the card issuer. One of the unique benefits of using PayPal is that we help you fight unwarranted chargebacks and attempt to recover your funds.

The chargeback states that the buyer's card was used to make a purchase without their knowledge.

It is up to the card issuer to decide whether or not they believe that the buyer?s chargeback is valid and they are asking for some information about this transaction from you.

The really interesting part is this one, The chargeback states that the buyer's card was used to make a purchase without their knowledge. The emails above clearly show the customer was in contact with us to purchase the lights. The transaction was an instant payment made by the customer.

I really can't stand dishonest customers. We stand by our name and reputation to fulfill all of our orders, and if we cannot, we refund the customers' payments.

Watch out for SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!! We haven't had too many in the past years, but from time to time, these pop up. We delivered the product and this customer is now trying to get our money on top of the product we already shipped him.

Take paypal for only the small stuff OR from buyers you have established contact with over a period of time. Insist on CC for larger transactions = Paypal sucks. With the CC companies, both the buyer and seller have better protection controls that are in place.

Has anyone else had run ins with this guy? If so and he has been doing this to several vendors, pool your info and supply it to the card companies. If he has done this several times, chances are, you will get your money from the card company and he will be F'd with fraud.

Did you even read his post?...he received a chargeback from the CC company. If he was covered under SPP (Seller Protection Policy), PayPal will actually cover that transaction out of their pocket. I don't understand what you mean by insist on CC for larger transactions...what's $135.00? Who do you think the CC company is going to try to protect?

Make sure you let PayPal know that you shipped it to the confirmed address. You probably already have...just letting you know.

This transaction is covered by the Seller's transaction policy, and we have tracking information showing a confirmed delivery. I started this post to let others know (and vendors) what this person is attempting and that maybe, as already noted in this thread that he might have done this to others too.

If there is any one on the forums from his city of know of this guy, it would be nice if we could get a message to him about his little scam and that we're onto him.

I saw and read the post. I understand the issue. The issue is that its more or less a problem between the the card issuer and Paypal not the card holder and the merchant as in a direct sale....paypal is a middle man NOTHING MORE = no real power to resolve fraud.

You're wrong, but I'm not going to argue with you in this thread. The owner of the thread has given the reason why it was created...let's stick to that.
