ok took my valv cover off to fix gasket and found this on one of my cams.
what is causing this to happen and would it be ok to drive on this still?? it's my DD.
there aint a groove or anything on it, it's just rough feeling well i guess it just gives me a reason to buy cams im gonna go out there and see if it jumped a tooth.
not all of them are like that just on that one camshaft closes to the front of the car. there are 4 lobes that have scares on them i already put the valv cover back on it but i think it was the four in the middle (i know that aint a big help) but the rest were fine.
you guys think maybe the rollers on the rockers are worn out?i just dont understand why it would just happen on 4 lobes and not them all!! what do you guys think all i should change?
Improper hardness on the cam shafts from the factory. Get them out of the car and get a new one installed. I would try to get another stocker from someone off the forums.
