Default Ticking sound, need help

At about 2,000 rpms you can hear it the most. a friend of mine said it might be a collapsed lifter, is this correct? what ever it might be what can i do to fix it?

replace them...I'm currently dealing with it as well, though mine has been gone now for about 4 days.

Make sure your valve springs/rocker arms are tight when you go in there..that could be it too, or possible a bent valve or failing oil pump.

Pretty sure you have to pull the cams to replace the lifters and thats a bitch because of the timing belt. But dont quote me on that, ive not done it and havnt read much on it either.

This is a common problem, and there is a tsb for it. The noise is generally caused by the cam caps.
