quick cam question

i love the sound of cammed srt-4s....anyway i have a buddy and his 4cyl daily driver has just cams and exhaust and he gained 36rwhp. just from cams and exhaust!...

i would like to get some crower stage 2 cams

good idea?
i got hard pipes large fmic, wga, exhaust, intake...
any power gain would be awesome...
do i need gears too? or just stock gears on the stage 2 cams?

if i need anything else with the cams let me know. if you have any insight on the power gains et me know...
and any pros and cons would be nice

i have the bc stage 2's and love them... you will need cam gears right off the bat. i went ahead and got their titanium retainers and springs. some times when you get cams installed your belt tensioner will tick after the install. so if you have the extra money go ahead and get the solid tensioner from dcr or realtune. my car doesnt lope a lot at idle, only happens when its cold. a heavy lope isnt really the best for a turbo car, so when you finally get it tuned it will almost sound like its stock. good luck, hopefully i helped you out.
