Well, finally got my car running, she sounds good with the new cams, built head etc. One problem....I'm leaking oil pretty bad from the exhaust cam seal.....Now, when I put the new cam seals on, I noticed one slide on the cam with ease, and the other was really tight to get on....wonering if the seal is suppose to be pretty hard to slide on the cam, or should they slide on with ease...little force.
well im sure you see it has that metal ring inside and the plastic type seal is a bit hard. i coat the ring inside and out with fresh oil. i press it on partically, but to get the seal more perfectly i use a big deep socket or a piece of exhaust tubing. i used the socket that fits on our axle's 31mm i use my hand and press it on there all the way.

they slide on fairly easy, i have had this happen to me also where i rolled the inside of the seal when installing it, i would take it off and repalce it with a new seal.

^^X2. I have done that more than once. Its a pain in the ass but it has to be replaced. I normally put a little bearing grease on it now before I slide it on and it works well. If it rolls or gets a little nick in it, just throw it away and get a new one before you put it back together because it will leak.
Got the old seal out, and there was a defect in it. there was a hairline crack in it.
Got a new Fel-Pro one for $6 and about to slap it in.
good deal. my wife dressed up as wonder women, pretty hot lol

Ya I got it all in, all was good and I got distracted by 2 of my buddys (assholes) and forgot to tighten the cam gear bolts. FUUUUUUUU! Had the car idleing for about 2mins, then I realized I forgot to tighten them.....about 1 sec from killing the ignition, it backfired, and the engine stopped. Just need to re-time it tomorrow.
