However you guys do know that you dont have to take the timing belt off when just changing the cams? If your doing cam gears or valve springs thats a different story.

I noted in mine not to remove it completely. We just pulled it off the gears and set it to the side a little, then wrapped it back on the new ones easily afterwards instead of taking it all off. Saved a lot of time I know heh.

bump for some new added info to the sticky.

At one time I was really keeping this updated but over time, well you know. If anyone see any added info that would help out PM me or post up so I can get it on here. Others have PM stating that it's helped alot. I'm going to try to revise the sticky.

Pictures would be awesome I plan on doing 2.0l cams with cam gears in a few months and pictures would be awesome. Does anyone know if there are pictures in the service manual? I plan on buying one but if someone here who has one could scan in some pictures of the cam removal process and or install that would be kick ass. Thanks

on the service manual there is pix in there, but they will kinda confuse you...i downloaded mine off the web, just google it, and im sure you will find a pdf file...good luck on the side plate, i swear it took me 3 hrs to move it out of the way, i was never able to fully remove it, but i did get it out of the way to remove all the bolts and stuff....if you have never done anything like this, i would alot for about 12 hrs for removal and install....

Don't see any write-up on page one.... It's just not there. Everything seems to be in place, but there is no write-up. I don't understand.
