It can be, I plan on doing mine In one day, shouldn't take more Than 8-10hrs or so, If you have a lift and air-tools, Makes It alot easier....We will find out how long It'll take.

it took us 7 hours of working, but we wernt busting our butts either! plus, we were in there for the first time (we can streamline it much better). we can eaisly shave an hour or even 2 off of that without too much stress

Hey Tex, The only hard part I see In doing Them, Is removing The engine support bracket...The big piece of metal on The side of The motor, holding The PS pump....That's really The only Thing I see which looks Like a PITA.
You have to tild The motor towards The drivers side to get It out?

I'll erase This post after you answer.

Remember if anyone has any suggestions, tips, or ideas that better help the installation I would be glad to add it to the sticky. PM me info and I'll post it up.

If you're going to do the Crime........You gotta do the Time.

The first go around is always a bitch. Ya the clearance between the frame rail and the engine support bracket is a bitch. You must up and down the engine to clear the long bolts. There is no work around that I know of. Also getting off the timing belt cover sucks too. It has to come off to get the cams out. The crank pulley is a bitch too and requires some heat usually also.

To make the job easier next time, don't put the cover back on. Just leave it off the motor. There is enough shielding to keep out small rocks etc. I ran my ACR that way for a year and a half w/o issues. This also provides zero issues with the new cam gears from rubbing and allows for easy adjustment. It will speed up any future cam swaps.

Luckily the belt tensioner is much improved over the hydraulic type in the older neon.

Well, In installed my cams today, It's not running, But That's beside The point.....It says in The sticky to remove The A/C compressor, I did not have to do This, hack off a little more time on The install.

Cams are in, and car is running like bat outa hell!!

I was nervous about That engine mounting bracket, It wasn't as bad as i thought it was. Theres 4 bolts That hold The bracket to The frame rail....You don't need to take These out. Inside the fender well, Theres a ground wire going to a big plastic grommet. Remove This, and Theres a star shaped bolt in There, this is going to The mounting bracket...I'm pretty sure. Remove This bolt, and you can raise up The motor pretty darn high to get to The 3 bolts for The MM plate.

At first, I started taking out 2 of the 4 bolts That hold the bracket to the frame rail, but each bolt literly took me 20-30 mins a bolt to out. I took out 2 of The bolts, Then came to realize about The bolt in The fender well.

Hope This helps some....If This is already post in The sticky, please tell me.

torqueing everything down to spec...what did you guys use? I'm attempting all of this with handtools more than likely heh. How do you what lb per inch or whatever you're torqued down at? Is there some kind of tool that tells you this?

Me and 3 buddies are going to attempt mine this sunday morning-evening. Hopefully we can do it. It's very intimidating though, I'm a novice mechanic, I'll be with 2 decent mechanics and 2 novices including myself. We do all our own work though so hopefully...this pans out heh...omg I'm worried. We're using various sets of handtools, jacks, ramps...anything and everything to do this shit heh. HOpe al lgoes well, pray for me guys please haha, my car's gonna blow up =(
