Default fidanza gears

I tried searching but couldnt find what I was looking for. Just wanted to make sure I went the right way on my gears. I wanted to advance the intake gear 1 degree and retard the exhaust cam 1 degree, just for a base. The gears have no plus or minus but I was under the impression that advance was towards the intake manifold side and retarding would be towards the turbo side of the motor. So I moved them in the opposite direction of each other about 1 mark, intake cam is to the right of center and exhaust cam is to the left of center. This may be confusing without a pic so I'll take one in the morning and post it up to confirm I did it right.

I know the marks arent real visible but you can look at the slots and tell which way the gears are moved. Intake cam advanced 1-2, exhaust cam retarded 1-2. By looking at the pic, does it look like I went the right way? I think I did but wanted to be sure.

advancing is clockwise, retard is counter clockwise, thats the center part(attached to the cam) in relation to the outer part

It looks like you did it right. The middle was 0 and the numbers to the right are + and the numbers to the left are -.

I thought that was right but just wanted to be sure. Fidanza must think its too much trouble to put a plus and minus on the gear.
