Default the difference in rocker arms........

(pics are courtesy of jeffb on the org.)

well here are some pics showing the difference between the three different rocker arms. as u can see the neons are a bit weaker on the back half compared to the other 2, on the pt/srt they redesigned the back half and made it bit more beefier so there would be a lesser likelyhood of them breaking off, and on the 2.7 they just redesigned the oil hole that sits on the lifter and made it face the cam lobe and rocker roller for better lubrication. the 2.4s are fine but if u want that little bit more peace of mind on ur high hp/ rpm build then i would definitely go with the 2.7 rockers.

Hold on I'll get the link, put it this way, the more I learn and know, the more I find DCR to be not as great.

I'm upgrading my head and need some advice

Yes, and tips of the lifters are the same size as are the cups on the rockers, so what DCR said makes no sense when referring to "wear in the pivot cup area over time".

Put it this way , I would not waste my time thinking its going to gain anything, but if you getting new rockers then sure get these instead. But also it will help keep oil out of the head/vc area so could reduce oil in the pcv system. The sealed power ones from rock auto were cheapest last I knew or moparsupercenter for mopar.

Heres some better info:
www.neons.org :: View topic - 2.0 Dohc Rockers & lifters and why to replace(upgrade).
www.neons.org :: View topic - Be wearry of the 2.7L rockers

I have them in mine and no issues

no no no, the 2.7 lashers are almost twice the size of ours but the rockers are the same. u want the 2.7 rockers and the pt/srt (n/a or turbo the lashers are the same) lashers because they have the hole in the top unlike the 95-00 lashers found in the 1gn neons and other cloud cars with dohc engines.

Question

If you run the 2.7l rockers could you still use the oil restrictor/mod? I was wondering because the oil restrictor/mod is to prevent lifter pump-up but, the 2.7l rockers redirect the oil flow to reduce oil pooling in the head & provide better cam lubrication. Can they be used together or will they restrict the oil flow too much? I know they do different things in reguards to oil flow but, have simliar effects.

so this would just provide better cam oiling properties, could you mod the oil relief on the 2.4 rockers to do that without taking the chance on a mismatch set
