I think I would pull it off and repsray if it is just a matter of undoing the headstuds and spraying real fast.

I would get a new gasket and spray it.

Do not remove the head and reuse the gasket. Since the gasket has been compressed already it wont seal correctly on reinstall (all the raised portions have been crushed).

The spray is there to essentially fill in any MINOR imperfections in the head/block surface and "glue" the gasket in place. I wouldn't install a gasket without it to be honest. Not worth the risk of having to tear it all back down and do it again.
