yes they have alot of overlap but unless you are set up for em (race head, race ported intake, big turbo with large turbine a/r and low restriction exaust from the header back and stand alone ems) count on loosing all midrange and looseing some top end power. IE: without a pretty serious set up your car is going to run like ass but sound very cool = RICE !!
the grind of cam doesn't determine the sound. the adjustment of the degree in the intake/exhaust does. the average is -3/+3 and ends up being loppy.
actualy doing this will only make more overlap but sacrifice the opening and close timeing of your valve train (this will not change your duration only the cam can change the duration this just screws up your timimg) doing this is equaly = RICE and 99% of the time will result in minor gains in one area to have massive losses in another area IE: gaining 5 hp up top is usless when you lose 15 threw the midrange and have crapy throttle responce
that loppy sound every one loves at idle is the sound is the sound of a very poorly runing engine (because at idle is WAY under the torque range) this is why you only pull 10" vac (old worn out engines sound loppy too)
get a chambered muffler for "loppy" sound, unless you have the supporting mods leave the 18's alone
