Default Complete fucking disaster!

So...I bought a race ported head many months ago from another forum member who claimed it was a TK ported head. I just put it on over the last week and finally got my new turbo installed today and was filling the coolant back up. After about 3 gallons of coolant going in the radiator I realize something bad is happening. Pull the dipstick and it's full of coolant! This shit was just pouring into the engine apparently which leads me to believe the head is warped. The guy I bought it from claimed to have it ported by TK and then checked by DCR for some reason. Now I am starting to think I got fucked. I'm gonna tear the whole damn thing back down but if I don't see a glaring problem with the gasket then I'm gonna have to take the head to have it checked. Is there any other possibilities?

Basics needed to be covered first. You had the used head checked for warpage & cracks, you used a new head gasket and installed it correctly, you did clean the block deck & you did not use one of those wizzer wheels to do this, you did the install using a new head bolts/studs and the bolt holes in the block were checked to be clean and free of disturbance so that the bolts/studs could be properly torqued.

I don't know him or who he is but I almost bought that same head way long ago. If you need any help I live in phoenix and I'm pretty sure he was somewhere by prescott which is not long from here. I hope all works out for you....

I did not have it checked because I was told it was ported by TK motorsports and then checked by DCR. Yes, 5 layer new. Installed correctly, I'd imagine. It only goes one way. Yes I cleaned the deck and no not with a whizzer wheel. Yes ARP head studs. If you know ARP head studs then you know there is no way your last question matters. I'm thinking the head is fuct.

Yeah...Think it was prescott, not sure. I can't blame him yet. I'm waiting on word from TK to see if they have any record of even doing this head. I don't see why DCR would check the head after TK ported it or how "that guy" would get all of that done from out in AZ.

are they the right ARP studs? I know I read a while back that ARP was sending he wrong studs out with the right part number on them. They would giv you the right Tq but not be all the way down.

Did you Torque the head per the specs and then give all the bolts a quarter turn more ??? using a high quality Torque wrench ??

more importantly did you torque them in the right pattern/sequence or from one side to the other?

Exactly ! There is more to it than just putting it on and tightening the bolts.

ARP has still not corrected that problem as far as I know, you actually need VW studs I think. So, it may very well be a stud issue.

Yes they are torqued to the right specs in the right order. I wish it was something that simple. When I have the heart to mess with with the car again I'm gonna pull the cams out and check the tq with my friends digital tq wrench. And yes they went 1/4 turn after reaching the magic number of 60 ft/lbs twice IIRC. It's gotta be the head.

As far as the head studs...This was the correct kit. These things are studs that you screw into the hole by hand and then you screw a nut onto the stud. There is no way that can bind up by bottoming out or something like you guys are thinking. And yes I used their grease when installing them.
