Default Can I use these ports for sending units? Pros/Cons

So I have my SRT torn down for some port work and basic clean up and engine detail. On the back side of the motor, where the stock oil pressure sending unit is, I used brass fittings to make a system to hold my Stock Oil Pressure Sender, Autometer Oil Pressure Sender, and Autometer Oil Temp Sender. While it worked, I really thought it was pretty crappy to look at an at some point would probably leak oil (as there were just so many fittings). With most things removed from the engine bay I kept looking at the two plugs on the drivers side of the head. I assume I can unplug these and use them for oil related needs, but I wasn't sure...so I'm turning to my friends here on SRTForums for help. LMK if I can use these ports, and if so, what are the pros and cons behind using them.

Thanks in Advance for your help!!!

I've seen people use the one to the right of the picture for oil pressure

Do people normally thread the sender right into that port or do they run a line from that port to mount it remotely?

Is there a prefered place to have a Oil Temp Sensor?

I wonder how differently the pressure would be from that spot than from the back of the block?

I really want to keep the sensors in the best locations possible.

Ive seen both threaded straight in and a line ran depending on the car setup and clearance issues with maybe an intake or something..

So both ports can be used then? Are there any reasons why these should not be used or any thing they should not be used for?

i have tried both the sender in the oil pan and in the head. have not tried the block fitting, although all are pretty good spots. i have mine in the head. the oil pressure readings are a bit different form the block and head, but not too much.

I was thinking of using the rear port (on the head, in my pic) for oil Temp, then just using the rear stock pressure port for both the OEM sender and the Autometer Sender.

Does anyone know what thread size the head ports are?

They both work just fine. I used the back port for the oil pressure, because it hides the sender a little bit better

Spent an hour reading the How-To's.... Good info. Thanks for the heads up.

Now that I'm pretty well versed on most of the optional ports, I have a pretty good handle on it.........But I have another couple questions:

1) If I thread in a Temp Sensor in one of those ports, will the protruding probe interfere with anything in the head?

2) What is the best place to have the Oil Temp Sensor? I'm sure there is a oil hot spot or place that provides the most useful reading of actual temp.
