Since this vid I had adjusted the exhaust one more for butt dyno results. I also had the PTP FTM on at this time. Now I have a MS, different exhaust coming in, bigger turbo, but same cams...new vid to come eventually.

booo i so thought you had a different vid clip that you were posting.

i saw that vid of yours a good few months back and loved the cold start!

cant wait to put my 2.0s in.

how'd they feel from 5k rpms and up?

Well I thought I was pulling good, but when I raced a friend I found out I needed to head to a dyno Pulled good till about 5.5k then started falling to 7k. Reason I say this is before I raced a friend and I would pull him up top and he would get me in the lower rpm...well we raced and I pulled him down low and he was gaining back up top pretty good. If anything he would have pulled me down low and not up top due to boost lag.

built motor, or is that a typo?

so did the 2.0s fall off hard near redline, or not as bad at redline?

would retarding the exh. cam 1-2* more help shift the power more towards redline to help prevent power drop off?

nope no built motor. Every where I have seen revving to 7k is ok on the stock head....unless I have been reading wrong? When I get my car back together I can try the exhaust cam differently. I will try it at -1 or -2 to see. Although when it gets back together I am heading to a dyno to properly tune the cams.

ohhh what are you running management wise to run 7k? ems, hydra, b&g?

and keep me updated.

i plan on dynoing my cams 1st thing and using the usual +2int, -3 -4exh as a base and tuning from there, but using someone elses experience is always helpful. so did you right off the back use them on the 50trim or ever use it on the stock turbo?

sorry for the questions. you and skullingaxe seem to be the only 2 on here w/ some decent hands on experience w/ em.

Yes I used them right off with the 50 trim...never had them on the stock turbo. I auto set them to +2 for intake and -3 for the exhaust since that was a common set for everyone. As for management purposes I installed and am using a Megasquirt for my car. I have it controlling everything.

sounds nice. 10 inHG of vacuum is enough for your brakes & everything to still work well?

That sounds nice! Have to get head work to put those in there? I figure I would do head, pistons, cams, springs and whatever all at once. I only want a reliable 450-470whp so dont need to go too far into the motor I dont suppose.

It would be pointless to use these cams without a ported head. And a upgraded valvetrain. I'm using Crane springs and retainers that come with the DCR head.

what cams are you on?

and what makes the sound so diffrent from cam to cam/car to car?
like the last vid posted with the c3's and 4u2nv's c3 sound so diffrent.
like some sound louder, some sound like the lobe faster...what makes this exactly?

so technically you want your car to overlap and lose hp?

since lope = overlap. and overlap hurts performance on a turbo car = less hp.

FUN!

Here is my 2nd start up after building my motor:

1. Crower Stage 2 cams
2. Fidanza Gears still at 0
3. 60-1 turbo
3. It has an e-cutout but it's closed at the moment

Thanks man, I love the way it sounds. I'm surprised at how well my buddy's digital camera actually picked up all of the sounds. Just make sure you get the upgraded valvetrain to go with them of course.
