no, factory torque specs don't apply to ARP head studs

there should have a been a card with their specs in the box ... depending on whether you use motor oil or their assembly lube, will determine the ft/lbs

if you can't find that card I can see if I can find mine ... did you get lube with the studs?

I just looked for the card but I can't find it ... probably tossed it out

you might want to shoot a PM to PTP and see what the specs are ... I just put mine in a few weeks ago but I can't even remember what they were, maybe like 80 ft/lbs with the lube

Yep. 80 to 85 seems to work for those under 500 WHP. Over and we have seen some issues with shifting and blown head gaskets. Take those to 92 and all the problems go away for the higher HP guys.

Now all we need to do is get the 4 layer head gaskets done and we will be golden. So far we have been holding 550 WHP with the 4 layer unit. I am taking a look at 5 layer units as well, stay tuned.

All our studs come lubed and in sealed bags. You can use additional lube to make 100% sure but we have yet to have a problem with this. Also, its a good idea to check each nut on the stud before you set the head down. I have had a few (in 10 years) that has some crap on the threads for a small bit of debris on the nut that gave me some issues with final trq. This is just another way to insure you are getting the proper trq with all your fasteners.
