Ok so I'm working on my engine buiild. I have everything for the bottom end(pistons, rods, etc.). To save on money i'm planning to run a stock (unported) head. Eventually I'll put a race head on it, so for now I'm not interested in having to upgrade parts that would come on a race head (springs, retainers). Would it be worth it to buy and install cams now, or just wait on the head?
If your not upgrading atleast the springs now I wouldn't put cams in as the stock springs will wear out prematurely with aftermarket cams. Also cams won't make or break a turbo combination so it can be done later.

not really a thread jack, that's basically my same set-up (pre build motor).
He sells both...its like having a premier line of product and then basic line. Which are you going to try and sell first? What would be the highpoints of one before you move onto the basic line? See what I'm getting at...
