Well im contomplating (sp?) getting some 2.0 cams but i was wondering what rpms range do they make the best power in? i havent really bean able to find any posts with that info?
obviously with tuning you can kind of change it and what not, but lets say "on average" where do they start to shine and where do they fall off? Id be running them with cam gears, springs, dcr oil mod, and 6500rpm rev limit wich with the 50trim i like to take it up as high as i can.
so 2.0L cams be well usefull if u got 50trim and tryin to go to 7K
(hate shifting out 4th)
i wouldnt recommend revving to 7k on a 50trim. power already starts to dip downward at 6k w/ a 50t. at 7k its gone down alot. especially stock head.
stock head revving to 7k fuckin sucks. you can honestly feel it choke up after 6300 and not make power. and thats w/ my car w/ a 62lb/min turbo and crower s2 cams.
are you saying you shift out of 4th down the 1/4?...
Hey thanks guys, My car with the .50tirm starts to fade just before redline but i usually hold it out as long as i can gets it higher into the r's in the next gear so theres not as much lag.

no. LoL.. no way..
highway racing.. shifting into 5th (overdrive) is like hitting brick wall.. gear is so wide u can really feel the lose in acceleration..

oo. x2 on that. cams will help in that department.
last race i had we went 140. i was still in 4th revving out, and the other guy got into econ mode w/ his 5th gr.
its just a REAL bad choking point when going deeper past 6500. the stock head/valves are just shitty and need full reworking..
well i was planning on port and polishing head.. and intake manifold.. guy at shop here do it real cheap.. does the circle track cars.. i know him.. when i talked to him tellin i was gonna do myself cuz i had no money he told me not to and he charge me cheap just i wouldnt mess car up..
would ported head & intake with Ti retainers and springs fix that huge lose over 6500?

ti retainers are a waste imo. and the retainers/springs arent the problem.
the problem lies in the valving. the intake side of the head is actually pretty decent.
until you've pulled the head off and looked at the stock valving for the exh...then youd understand.
if you're going to invest in pulling the head off to port it...just send it out and do it right, once.
or you could go to stock neon dohc specs. the valves fit inside the srt head but you have to grind the seats to fit the +3 exhaust specs. stock neon springs are +1intake and +3exhaust.
