Default 2.0 cams lope like a SOB!??

WTF? Are these cams suppose to lope pretty damn hard, or what!

Recently traded a member for some 2.0 cams, and after putting my fully built head on, the cam is just crazy...timing is dead on, and I'm on stock gears....Just wondering.

how did you set your timing?

When uncommon and I did his 2.0's we had crazy lope and after checking timing with the timing marks 3 or 4 times we concluded it was perfect.

He bought the DCR cam fixture tool thing and checked it and low and behold it was quite off. Now the car idles completely normally.

When I had them they did not lope much at all and that was right after they were installed and at 0/0.

They're not 180 out, and my buddy has a tool that I used (kinda like DCR's cam fixture tool)

Unless they're larger than 2.0 cams??

slow_spool's loped pretty hard too, and he used the cam fixture tool as well... but then again it might have been how he set the cams..

With all the 2.0l cams I've installed, I've never had one set lope real hard straight up. Once I played with cam timing they would, but not at 0,0. Im not sure why some peoples are. Unless they got a set of 2.0l aftermarket cam shafts. Which I doubt. Only thing I can say is to check then double check the timing.

like I said, we checked timing 2 or three times that night when we got Nate's car together because it was loping pretty good. BOTH of us checked and rechecked and concluded timing was dead balls accurate. Only later when Nate rechecked with the Cam tool did he find out how off it was.

I changed both....But broke the dowel pin off the exhaust cam, but it's being fixed as we speak.

I had the 2.0's in for a year or better. I didnt care for them and put the stockers back in. Now it feels like the car has more top end.
