Selling my srt for the srt-6. Is there any performance parts for these cars? I found a mopar cat back for the crossfire but don't know if it'll fit the srt-6...
It may not fit the srt6.You probably won't gain anything as the exhaust on the srt6 is pretty aggressive already.Renntech's mods for the slk are probably workable on the 6 and I think thet are working on getting the ok from Chrysler.Congrats on the decision to get the 6.It's an awsome car.I got mine 4 days ago and now it's 16 below zero here. Where is Wiapahu? I have a friend who is a dentist on Oahu.

Hey there, just checking in... My wife just bought an '05 Crossfire-SRT6 (last one on the lot) and I have an SRT-4... She obviously has more money than me... at least for now.
Just popping in to log some entries and get acquainted. I'm modding the SRT-4 suspension (Hotchkis and S3 coilovers)... Wife won't do much with the SRT-6 since she likes the "fluff" of the Daimler parts of the car... not the noisy, raucus SRT-4.... But, she will smoke me seriously now.... Ah well.... I will eat her smoke for a while.... Later.
Let me know if any of you have issues or problems with your SRT-6. I know all the usual ones with the SRT-4..... Did some research and came up relatively clean on the SRT-6 model... Base Crossfire had some manual transmission issues though.... Havent seen anything on auto tranny for SRT-6.
Keep me posted if you get any dirt while I break in the car.. Thanks.
Congrats on the new 6er. Coupe or roadster? The salesman told me he thought there were about 5000 srt6 made but after some searching I found out that Chrysler has not released the production numbers of srt's but industry experts estimate that less than 1000 were built. Roadsters would be less than 1/3 of that.As far as issuses with them the engine and tranny are AMG sourced and bullet proof although there have been reports of some niggling electrical things which may or may not be design related. I have not seen anything in mine although I only have about 300 miles on it.
Enjoy
Ya thanks... I sure hope my wife doesn't rack this thing up as insurance and repairs are going to be expensive... Aside from gas..... Anyway, we got the coupe as that was basically all there was left...... She liked the color (very important to a woman) Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic (what a mouthful just for the color)...
So, I told her to "LEARN how to drive the car, FIRST". We will know doubt have many practice sessions, mostly with me blindfolded and white-knuckled.
By the way, the MPG rating is 17-24 but some research had reviews saying the mileage was great (could have been the base Crossfire though). If you monitor it, what are you getting out of your SRt-6 and how hard do you drive it? If I don't get into boost on my SRT-4 regularly, I get 25-26 out of my SRT-4. SRT-6 guess would be 20 (mid range)... Lemme know what you get over time....
And hopefully, this car doesn't up falling apart at 60K miles like her previous Saab did. The car doesn't have a high production run, which means parts will be expensive and hard to get over time.... unless they are swap-for-swap from Daimler.....we'll see.............. Maybe it will hold some value as well.... Anything would be better than that Saab.... Thanks for replying.... Off to work to help pay for this thing...... At least the dealer took $14K off MSRP to clear it out when we bought it... Hopefully I won't be putting that same $14K back into over time.....
The cool thing about the car is that it's easy to drive easy.If you lay into it and get the blower spinning it is a beast. There is a bit of a learning curve with the autostick. It seems to shift faster at higher revs and you can keep the revs up in the sweet spot and it pulls pretty ferociously. It will be a while before I get anywhere near its limits. The mileage is very much reflective of how you drive it.As far as holding it's value, several publications including kbb and Automotive Collector magazine have proclaimed it a "future collectable".The drivetrain is completely AMG and pretty bulletproof.
Have fun
i use this car as my daily driver. not to bad in light snow, actually i have plenty of fun in the snow. if there was a blizzard i wouldnt drive any car. the permormance is good. the radio is good. i'm a big guy and i'm very comfortable in the car. i think it's one of the best looking cars on the road. performance parts for the car are expensive because it's all mercedes stuff and the tuners charge rediculous money for parts and labor.
Hey whoa, I didn't get any recall notice.... Zis for both 2004/5 model years? If you can post the info from your recall notice, please do. I will start a separate thread on this one... Don't want any overheating going on there.
