Road America 4+ mile road course with twisties, elevation changes, and straits where you can get up to around 130 mph. This is what the SRT6 is all about. The bad news, you drive their cars. The good news, you use their cars.Half the participants are non-owners with the rest mostly srt4 owners with a few 300C srt8 and 1 Viper. I was the only SRT6er.You get to drive a Challenger(great car, very well balanced for a 4 pass. coupe)a Magnum(I can't believe I took that turn and am going 120 mph...in a STATION WAGON!) and Crossfire coupes and roadster.Up until the day before the had Vipers also but some body spun out and hit something. The Viper is a 510 hp beast with a clutch and no ESP and frankly way too much for most untrained drivers. We got to drive the Beast on the short track but had to leave it in second,no clutching. The SRT8s sound great winding out down the straits! Every one who drove the 6er were blown away by it and realized that it was the real world way more car than they thought it was.
Pics and more info on the way

I too am serious about the track experience.
Seriously pissed off that there is not one event within 4 hours of my
house, and there are great facilities available in this area.
I have taken delivery of 2 SRT's in the last 6 months
06 Mag for me and 05 CF for her.
The CF would be the roadcourse vehicle of choice if they
would do an event in the midwest.
Built by experts. Tested in the real world.-Mopar

Ya, for some reason, the tune of a V8 screaming down the road is even better than the Viper GTS-10.... I guess it's the loping resonance or something. Even a Viper doesn't "sound" as nasty as a V8..... How was the SRT-6 on the track by the way? Did it handle as well or better than some of those big-iron V-8's? I would hope so.... And you said they had a Challenger out there.... That would be the 2007 model they have in the car rags, yes? Post up a pic of that. I used to own a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T and a 1971 Cuda (both small block V8s). I really miss the sound of that Cuda's V8 whine and the 4 speed on that thing.... Hence my boardname, cuda340man. Didn't handle worth a sh-t, but man, was it fast.... Sold it when my kids came. Would like to trade them back for the car again if I could find the guy who bought it. Kids hardly have 14,000 miles on them.... all original, numbers match too....
The big cars handled fantastic.Very well balanced and predictable.Brakes were awsome.Several cars were in need of new pads and rotors some were noticeably warped and they go though them almost every other event. They learn alot from this program and they are going to suggest to Dodge-Chrysler that they go to slotted-drilled rotors. The 6er is the true star of the road course. With its light weight and shorter wheel base it just dances though the turns and blasting out of them the motor just winds out in a more silky sophisticated manner and while the big boys sound faster the 6 is just as fast if not a little faster down the straits. The 6 brakes better but in all fairness the sedans have to hual down a lot more weight. The Magnum wagon really impressed me. We didn't take the Cherokee SRT8 on the track but took it down the drag strip and slalom. With it's AWD the Jeep was the fastest off the line. It was mind-blowingly fast. I may be our next vehicle if I can find one in a few years.
just poster on anther thread about the same thing.file:***c:/Documents%20and%20Settings/personal/Desktop/srt%20track%20forum.htm
