Default Recall E19. Radiator cooling fan module

Starting a separate thread here related to this recall. Sohc808 had it done recently. Requested he/she post input on recall notice... I didn't get any such notice. Wondering if it is for 2004/5 model years or just certain build dates, etc... and symptoms and whether it's an across-the-board recall.

Post inputs here if you've had it, need it, etc. Only took 15 minutes to change according to sohc808....

Re: Recall notice E19

2004-2006 (zh) chrysler crossfire

Vehicles built from March 1, 2004 thru September 14, 2005

Subject: The radiator cooling fan motor on about 23,700 vehicles may have been improperly assembled. This can cause the fan motor to fail and result in engine damage from overheating under certain operating conditions.

Repair: The cooling fan module must be replaced.

Parts information: Part number CDD2E190 (cooling fan module)

Note: The cooling fan module is only the fan and motor. The kit comes with three nuts and one clip.

Default Yes, SRT6 included.

Yep, sure includes SRT-6. I just called my dealer and gave them the VIN from our SRT-6 (build date 8/04) . It is included in the E19 recall.... Best to schedule the appointment now as it takes 7 - 21 days to get the part...... Ah yes, Mercedes Benz.... Ich haben musten getten parten fromen Stuttgart. Beware that when you need parts, it will take awhile... for pretty much anything. Just keep an eye on your temp gauge in the meantime.

Thanks for posting this sohc808.... The notice came out and nobody at the dealership bothered with fixing existing ones on the lot... too much trouble, ahem. Now that it's sold, please don't make us fix it for free.... Since it affects 23,700 vehicles, one would gather that's pretty much ALL of them.
