Default Limp Mode/Sluggish in the heat

Just picked up a SRT-6 and am loving it...I have noticed however that if the car gets up to operating temp and after a few WOT runs it will go into what seems like a "limp mode". It almost feels like it is running off the NA 3.2L V6...no boost/SC... Is this the IC pump that I have been hearing about that needs replaced, or just simple heat issues? Interestingly enough, I tried the old school technique of turning on the heater full blast and it seemed to work...

Pump or not, go ahead and order an upgraded unit.

Definitely sounds like the notorious IC pump problem. Also, these cars have a very noticable drop off in power in hotter weather anyway. You'll see when you get to drive it on a 30 degree day and swear you've picked up like 30hp to the wheels. Next upgrade after the ic pump and tires I would recommend a Needswings Intake and even though it does nothing for straight line performance the Sprint Booster takes away a lot of the throttle lag (a very worthy upgrade imo).

Yeah, intakes I'm still doing a little research on, but the Spring Booster seems to be a very well-liked mod.

You want some good research material on intakes just look on Drag Racing 1/4 Mile times 0-60 Dyno Fast Cars Muscle Cars - DragTimes.com and see what all the fatsest srt6's are running. All are running Needswings intake. It is the most proven intake for our cars at the track. If your looking to keep the stock look and still gain some power I'd recommend going with th SL55 intake (LET sells it). I have a Needswings intake and love it.

I'm gonna say the i/c pump( as long is there is no check engine light). Quite common on these cars, get a johnson cm30. And congrats on the ride!

Definitely the intercooler water pump.

As far as intakes go, go with the Needswings unit. Huge difference in performance and the best complete package out there. The mandrel bent tubing is what made me choose this design over the others who use excessive couplers to get the pipes routed properly. It really fits the engine bay perfectly.
