I never really looked too hard at the Crossfire before because the price was just too much for me, however I have been reading here there is $12K to $14K in rebates or whatever Chrysler calls it on the SRT6. Anyone here know more about this? And if so where can I find this info? I know lots of questions but I want to be on firm ground when it comes time to do battle at the dealership. I have an 05 SRT4 as my trade, have to see how willing the dealer is on trades. Any help would great.

Ya, that's about right. There was an ad in our local paper for $14K off on the last remaining Crossfire SRT-6 they had. It boiled down to $12K off MSRP plus a dealer holdback-releated rebate of $2K for a $34K net. So, you end up paying more sales tax (or at least that's the way they work it.... To be pissy about it, try to get the whole $14K off the topline to save on sales tax). Of course, you aren't ordering one, so you have to take what's on the lot. In our case, we got a coupe with DVD NAV and a beefed up stereo, neither of which we really wanted, but it added $1200 to the car. I have heard the DVD Navigation is hard to use, and the Infinity stereo is nice, but definitely not $1200 of nice. So, see if you can find one on the web with all the stuff you do (or don't want) and get a bottom line quote. A used roadster (11K miles) just went for $32K on Ebay. If you'r shooting for new ( never titled, and less than 600 miles on it), try not budging from $33K and not getting screwed on your SRT-4. I have an 05 SRT-4 (bought it 8/04 for $19,800 out the door) and the wife bought the SRT-6 a month ago. She's got more money than me since I pay the mortgage and all the other bills (or she's got a boyfriend on the side that slips her cash). So, don't let them low-ball you on the trade of the SRT-4. In fact, you might be better off selling it on Ebay ahead of time, or even post in on the Norcal or National SRT forums here to see about any interest. Even Craigslist might be good. You never know. If you have a low-miles SRT-4, I've heard the trade in lowball figure at $12K when you could easily get $15-17K depending on condition and mods you may have made. So, don't let the dealership steal your trade. In Sunnyvale, CA near where I live, they sold a brand new SRT-4 for $18K 2 weeks ago.... They also had the $2K rebate on them to help clear stock. Same goes for the Crossfire to clear them out... At least a month ago it was like that..... Give it a shot. See if you can find a nice one. They handle like they are on rails compared to a stock SRT-4. But with Stage 3 coilovers, Hotchkis sway bars, 17X8 rims and 225X45 tires, and strut tower bars, the SRT-4 does a good approximation of handling much better....Not at the SRT-6 level, but hey, SRT-6 cost $14K more. If you want to talk on the phone about it give me a ring at 408-569-4898. My name is Russ.

I believe the dealer where I bought my srt6 has two coupes left. I also bought a new Pacifica from them two years ago so I believe I have some pull with them. Let me know if your interested and I'll see if I can shake them down.
I was going to wait until spring to sell my SRT4 but it looks like I'll have to move the time table up. My SRT4 is a 05 with 3000 miles on it and it is stock, right now it is in storage.
cuda340man - thanks for the info, very helpful. I may give you a call if I can sell my SRT4.
srtbeem - Thanks for the offer, Ill let you know. First I'll have to sell my SRT4.
I'm sure the dealer would try and steal my SRT4 on a trade, thats a know brainer. Once spring finely gets here the supply of SRT6's will dry up with the lower prices so I have to move my SRT4 now. I could try and do a deal with the local dealer here in town to test the waters and see what they offer on a trade, I'm sure I'll be disapointed with their offer, but I'll give it a try.
Well I am the owner of a SRT6; will pick it up next Wednesday It is a black coupe, no options. This car is alot different then my SRT4. The numbers can be confusing but the number that counts is $18,597 that is what I have to kick in plus my trade, I think I did all right on the price. The car listed for $45,695. Boy thats alot of money, one year ago I would of never of even considered buying a car that cost that much, what a difference a year makes.
Well now I'm off to find my best deal on loans, my SRT4 was paid for so I don't have to worry about that. I applied at E loan and I'll see what kind of rate they give. I do have very good credit so I should get a good rate.
Thanks for the help guys I never thought I could get this car at that price.
You won't regret it.The srt4 is a great car for the money but the 6 is a PHENOMONAL car for the money. The peformance is close to, equal, or better to cars that cost a LOT more. You will see them sell used for a few grand less in a few years but it will never be worth less than 25k and eventually go up in value. Price a new 2005 Porsche 911, which has virtually the same performance numbers.Even a boxter S which is slower and a base boxter which is way slower costs more.
Enjoy the looks and be safe
Dealer here has a srt-6 sticker is $46k
second window sticker says $36k now...i am eyeing it a bit...
For 34 would you eye it more? They want to sell and they know what they are going for.See how much they really want to sell it.
I did some looking yesterday in KC found one @ 8K under, found another dealer that said 5K rebate. Then found one she liked and they said no rebates, but make an offer. We bought an 05 SRT Crossfire for 11K under and got Kelly on the trade in.

06 Mag SRT mine
05 Crossfire SRT hers
00 Dak R/T Stroker 408
02 Stratus R/T <> traded in yesterday
They always jerk you around on the numbers, so Buck, what was your "out-the-door" price on the Crossfire SRT-6 (assuming it was a coupe). The thing you have to watch about "rebates" is that go on AFTER you pay sales tax, at least here in Calif. So, getting the big rebate is NOT as good as getting the amount off the sticker/offer-accepted price. The net is the same in terms of cost for the car, but you get screwed more on sales tax since the selling price of the car is used to calculate the sales tax, THEN they take off the rebate at the bottom, instead of taking off the entire amount off-the-top.
What my wife and I got was 12K off MSRP (calculate tax on that), then another 2K in rebate. If you get 8K off MSRP and 5K rebate, check your docs, you most likely paid more in sales tax. We got pretty much close to Kelly BB on our trade in so we had a decent dealership.... Saab's are hard to trade in since they are "niche" vehicles... I've never liked 'em but the wife loves 'em... I'm glad it's gone... The Crossfire SRT-6 coupe is sharp... Now if only she would let me drive it....

Cudaman,
Bottom line was 35K on 46K sticker. Invoice minus rebate, holdback. and trade-in. Yeah I know they always play with the numbers.
In KS you pay tax on the difference, not on the sticker. They inflated the trade in by 3500 to adjust the tax. Including tax we paid 27K difference. IMO the trade in was worth 8K<Kelly, but it was wrote as 11.5K. If memory serves the rebate was to the dealer and doesn't show on our docs at all. All that paperwork is in the car, and she drives it so much I haven't had time to take another look. Nor have I had time to turn off the ESP and see if it feels as fast as my SRT Mag. Funny thing is as of now they still haven't charged our CC for the deal, so I'm out the door @ 8K @ this point. ;>)

Wow, that's great, I could have driven to Kansas, got the car for less, then driven back and saved $. In Calif. you pay tax on the "sales price" which is the agreed upon amount for the original car, NOT the difference of the trade-in and the car's purchase price.... So, you paid $27K INCLUDNG TAX instead of $34K PLUS TAX, then minus trade-in and rebates at the bottom... And your purchase price included the the deduction for the trade-in bump up the dealership gave you for your trade to cover the tax. What did you trade in anyway for them to be nice enough to give you $11.5K for?. That tax savings alone amounts to $2805 in CA for sales tax. Kansas dealerships sound much nicer that CA dealerships. Governator Arnold Schwazeneggar should change that rule too on big-buck purchases like a car.. He already reduce the annual registration fees when he came into office here. Don't take off the ESP until winter is over. You no doubt have summer tires on and it will need all the help it can get if the weather sucks. Just so I understand how KS works, when you get a chance, write down the line items from your purchase agreement, ala below
sales $34K (or whatever they put, 44k?)
minus trade-in $11.5
tax (6% over there?)
minus dealer rebate
Total out the door cost --- $27K
Would be interested in seeing how KS works for sales tax calcs. Calif. sucks and we don't get 93 octane fuel either.

No snow here for the last 2 months, won't likely see any until next Dec.
They played with the base price to hide the rebate, $500 scotchgard and paint sealer that we refused to pay for. And they inflated the trade-in as well.
Keep in mind that sticker was 46XX and (retail) on our trade was 12K, so here's the actual numbers that do show on the bill of sale.
Base price 36,900
Trade in 11,850
Trade diff 25,050
Doc fee 499.50
Sub total 25,549.50
Sales tax 1,922.60
Title fee 5.00
Total price 27,477.10
