So I have been like many of you waiting for the SRT4 to arrive; however an opportunity may have come up this week for a sweet deal on an SRT6 coupe with low KM well below standard retail given a friend of the family.
So, do you ditch the winter beater and get the caliber srt4 as a great all arounder for more money and live with the depreciation, OR keep the winter beater and get the SRT6 and live with the fact it is an automatic when you love stick? as the deal is really good on the SRT6, you could drive it for a few years and sell it for near what you paid and maybe then at that time get the srt4 if the manual thing was still bothering me... who knows. thoughts?
The ride was fun, deffinetly a great summer sports car minus the auto tranny... thoughts?

srt6 all the way. They are a blast to drive and believe it or not i like driving the auto in that over my stick most days. The car also handles unbelievably sharp.
Make sure to get the transferable warranty on the SRT-6 if the original owner has it... Parts are expensive. Go with the SRT-6. The handling, acceleration, and braking are immensely better than the Caliber SRT4 will ever be. The auto tranny shifts great. Make sure the E-19 fan control module recall has been done (affects all SRT-6's made). If you test drive one and it has sluggish acceleration, it's the 2ndary cooling unit on the supercharger going out (no TSB, just affects some of them). Check also that it hasn't been used as part of the SRT track experience (User Danno on crossfireforum.org can let you know that). If you want more info see crossfireforum.org for lots more details.
Just my opinion but, when I drove the SRT-6 at the SRT Track Experience, I was severely dissapointed. It was the only car that fishtailed in the 11th turn (with the bend setup not just the kink) at Road America and was gutless compared to my S2 SRT-4. If you are just performance minded, I would look elsewhere. I will say that the Crossfire will turn more heads than the caliber though....

Ultimately the choice is yours but here's my opinion, the standard Crossfire which my boss has will tear the back tires to shreds in 4th gear, the SRT addition will only be more impressive, the Caliber on the other hand is nice for what it is designed for. But honestly I would so go for the crossfire.
