I just installed a new Boomba Throttle Body and after install my SRT idles high and I can't figure out what the issue is. When I depress the clutch the engine revs to about 2500 and drops to 1500 and so on. When the tranny is put into neutral the rpms stay consistently at 2000. I'm thinking I have some kind of air leak in my system. Any ideas?
I've also read many of the threads that are similar to my issue. The only issue I have with those is my throttle body was a direct swap out, meaning the only thing changed on either end was the throttle body. Intake mani and tubing to the tb are stock.
since you moved around the wires i would check the tps and iac wiring itself. wiggle the wires around while the car is on and see if anything changes. If it does you need to replace the wiring.
No, the tb kit didn't come with one and I didn't have one on hand. Do I need to order one? And would I just get that from a dealership?
thats your problem. you need an o-ring on that sensor. you have an air leak. you can get an o-ring at autozone. i had to match mine up. the dealer only sells the o-ring with the sensor.
Ok, I went to NAPA yesterday and ordered the o rings and the service guy told me that there are 3 o rings and one gasket on the TPS. Is this correct? Should I just change them all out?
Ok replaced all o-rings (two on idle air control and one on TPS) seemed to idle alright. Bad weather here last night though so I'll have to wait till after work today to see how she runs.
Ok just got done driving the car and it drove the same. So, while messing with it I removed the idle air control plug and it drove fine. All the problems went away. Obviously this is the part that is broken but what makes it run fine without it and should I replace it?
