Default Tach adapter?

Will this switch require a tach adapter?
http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...99R10406-1.pdf
Or will wiring it to one of the coil trigger wires be sufficient?

It requires a tach adapter to read correctly. Otherwise, it will only read half of the current RPM of the engine. Tach adapters are relatively inexpensive and easy to wire.
