Default Some n3wb questions

I'm buying crackaddict's car (2004 srt-4 with 380 horse power)

The car has the 3147 kit and a bunch of other mods...

My question is:

How big of a shot of nos could I run safely? Would I need to upgrade my pistons and what not?

You're going to actually want to check out the stickies. They have a fair amount of info........starting out with nitrous myself and I know from reading other threads the more knowledgeable ones in here are going to tell you to do that first.

I think the stickies have some pretty good info for beginners and would help with you're question and more.

first off what is your goal? with that turbo it is almost pointless to spray it without a built motor. you could use a hobbs switch for spool. but with a big turbo stock block the most you would be able to spray is a 50 or so. and you would need race gas to do it any way. personally if i had your car and it was my dd i wouldnt spray it. just when i needed that extra power get a good race gas tune and turn that thing up to 29 or so.

Ok so you read the stickies but they didnt answer your questions. YOu need a way to monitor knock also timing control, the FC/BC that you have is ok for the turbo but I have a friend that has blown up two motors partly because of hideng boost from the computer with a piggy back and getting to much timing. If you sell the DETC and get an Xcaliber frm SCT and get your car tuned for the turbo and the spray I dont see why you shouldnt be able to get away with a 75 shot. You will need to do a bottle neck fix and I would also recomend a fuel pump rewire so that your 255 is running at its best. With the piggy back you will have timing issues and most likely blow up the motor.

I already plan on upgrading the clutch soon as it gets here. I also plan on getting forged pistons and some other motor upgrades. I don't need a huge shot, I would be happy with a 50 shot to be honest. Just something to have fun with at the track once in a while. I wouldn't use the nitrous anywhere else but the track.
