So I was thinking of picking up a nitrous kit off a friend of mine. Its a NOS wet kit. Anyway Im was thinking of running this kit with a 75 shot, 1 step colder spark plugs, fuel pump rewire, wastegate set a 17 psi, stage 2 injectors. I was planning on trying to spray once and awhile on 93 octane pump gas and at the track on race gas. Tell me what you guys think.
sounds good other than the pump gas. you will need 100oct or higher to run that probably 110. i have ran just about that same set up 2 years ago and ran a best of 12.58@118 on stock 205 kdw's with just about no life on them. btw you dont need the s2 injectors for only 17psi.
so should i not worry about retard the timing then...Also I do have a wideband so i can watch my AF. And how could i run it on 93 octane JW.
Race gas is cheap insurance. KR "should" not be an issue if you keep the boost down. Your boost is gonna spike with the nitrous so if your car is set to run spike 17 PSI it's gonna be higher. It's not a bad idea to put a scan gauge on the car to monitor KR for a nitrous pull or two. If it were my car, I would jet down to a 50 on 93 octane. Just my 02 cents
yeah I got mine on 50 shot for 93 octane around the same boost you are running. I have heard mixed things from people about whether or not to spray the 75 on 93 pump but from what ive heard you can do it just fine but its def rough on the engine and will for sure shorten the life of it. Im not gonna spray any bigger then a 50 on 93, for my 75 i will at least be doing 100 oct if not higher. It sucks to cause that kinda fuel is actually kinda hard to get around me too..

i have logged many runs with pump gas and wi and race gas for anything over i say a 35shot you need higher octane. i could run a 35 shot on 20psi with wi and only get 3-5deg of kr. but when i went to a 50shot i got 8deg at the hit then at about 48-5k i maxed out the knock sensor. so and i have done the same test at 17psi unclamped with about the same results. you need a scan gauge to monotor knock or run race gas its that simple.

so your saying that even with my boost turned down around 17 or 18 psi and a little 50 shot on 93 octane im still tearing my engine up??

could be...
why risk it? people have done a lot of things with nitrous and pump, and some swear by it...if your doing highway pulls, do what i do and keep a couple gallons in the back.
what are you controlling nitrous with?
if your going to the track, then there is no excuse. race gas ftmfw.
and my boost, on a 35 wet with meth on (no tuning at all, just kit on @8psi) was set at 17psi pre nitrous, and spiked to 22 causing my s0 to hit fuel/boost cut and break up like crazy. I have to run the WGA to about 15-16ish psi to get it to not shoot over 20psi initially and hold a good run. but i trapped 116 on this setup once @ the track, so im excited to see how i do with the 75 jet thats in now.
although i dont know how the boost is going to jump on tehe 75, thats still something i have to work out before spring time...map clamp?
