Default N20 WOT Question

Ok after reading rhunter's backfire situation it has be wondering something. I have ZEX N20 System for a wet 50shot. Its turned on by a switch and then sprays when throttle at 100%. So the question is; When I'm WOT Shifting and say I miss a gear isn't this how Backfire happens?? When you down 100% and n20 still spraying in engine then BOOM?? So how can I prevent this from happening?

proper maintenance. Just keep your eyes on your solenoids, and do operational checks on them to ensure they open/close properly

not sure how proper mx can help when he misses a shift. the n2o solenoids will still be wide open until he hits the high pill in the window switch...if he has one.

OP, you could always set up a relay so when the clutch is depressed the n2o solenoids are closed.

not sure. but the WOT switch wouldnt matter if he was WOT shifting. its the high rpm switch that would shut off the N2O if he missed a shift...assuming he has one. thats why i would think a clutch switch would be a good safety measure. that way when the clutch is down, the nos is off.

When the guy blew the welds off of his intake manifold
(sorry I had to )

but seriously, On that particular kit, he had mechanical wot switch (the one's connected to the TB), it some how got stuck open and caused that destruction. I'm far from a nitrous expert, but I think Electronic TPS activation (like the zex) is the way to go.

As far as wot and nitrous, I won't try it. I don't have a window switch and I can't afford a new motor right now.

N2MB is working on a module/box that allows for wot shifting and nitrous de-activation. It will be in beta testing soon. So keep your eyes peeled. I'm sure we will hear from Jay or Jim P in the near future.

Oh I finally got a clean pass out of my car. 2.2 60' 12.83 @ 114. No tuning of the nitrous kit (fuel pills) and with my needswings cut out closed. Not great by any stretch but still puts me in the 12 second club.

I currently use a dynotune WOT/Window switch to activate at 3k and deactivate 6k. If I shift at 6k, the nitrous momentarily deactivates until I release the clutch. With something like this, you can set the deactivation to whatever shift point you want.
The simple answer is DON'T MISS!!!

I'm waiting for the N2MB module. I have the 2-step with WOT box, once the module is released I'm gonna get that as well.

congrats on the good pass rhunter. with the cutout open you probably would have gotten another 2mph or so. with my sprayed runs its about a 3-4mph differance. boost only runs its about 2mph faster with the cutout open.
