You dynoed at Blow-By eh? Those guys are Mustang Junkies.I would get some more fuel mods and crank the boost up,theres a video on here somewhere of a guy with a 65 shot getting like 400WTQ on almost stock everything.
Can't go to high on the boost. Gotta keep EGT's in mind when spraying.
Get a wideband and datalog your a/f ratios. If you can also get a egt sensor. Running that rich will keep your egts way down which is a very good thing. If you really want to tune the system start leaning it out with smaller jets, you can buy a set that has over 50 jets. To get your money back sell them to the guys at the track that need different jets for $5 to $10 a piece.
Anyways start changing jets until you start to lean out and watch your egts. When the egts start to go up much stick with the jet you have if the egt is not to high or go back one jet richer. When tuning with nitrous on a turbo car your egts a really important. Once you have your nitrous tune set you can try increasing your boost a bit until your egts start raising again. The back the boost down a bit. Of course there is nothing wrong with your setup now but if you want to get everything out of it try that. Also if you can borrow someones hexalogger check your timing and knock. If either the timing is pulled or you see knock make sure you find out why.
I talked to a few other guys at the shop i use (i am pondering n20 so its been a topic of discussion for me), and the consensus was that you should have your car's a/f somewhat rich, but still reasonable before putting on Nitrous. Wet kits only make you richer, no matter how many jets you pull out. So by backing down on your boost to start with, you were probably running rich before even hitting the nitrous. There is just no coming back from starting off way rich, when you are adding even more fuel with a wet kit.
From your baseline, you were already at 10.8 to 10.9 a/f, i would have leaned that out to 11.2 - 11.5 with a piggy back to begin with, then try the nitrous again. Even with a lower fuel jet in, you are still ADDING fuel to your baseline, going up in Nitrous jets can lean you out a little, but your cylinder pressure will get too high and you will be pulling timing before you are even able to lean it out enough.
Well you can lean out a car or richen it up just with the fuel jets. You are correct in the fact that you should have the car running correctly, IE at the correct a/f ratio before you start tuning but you can lean a car out with nitrous. It is very possible to go way to lean with the wrong size jet even if your baseline a/f ratios are in the 9's. Now this is assuming running a large shot of nitrous, at least a 50 shot or more. If your car is running in the low 10s or worse in the 9's as far as your a/f ratios are concerned without nitrous a 35 shot will not add enough to get you into the mid 11's. Most nitrous kits come with very few jets and in my expierience they do not usually come with the correct fuel jets for the SRT4. The reason for this is probably due to the higher fuel pressures our cars run at but it could be caused by a multitude of reasons. For this reason having a wideband is very important.
hey bribri have u ever brought ur car to the track on spray cause im going on a 75 shot and i pretty much have the same mods as u besides ur front mount if u have whats ur 60 foot as well
