Default 3% nitro mixed with meth picked up...

We picked up 18whp by simply adding a small amount of nitomethane (3%) to straight meth this past weekend on the dyno. The car was already on striaght meth on the befroe runs. Eliminated 6 counts of knock on pump gas tune alone also. More details and dyno runs before and after coming later.

In for Before & After info.

Is nitromethane corrosive? Where can one buy nitromethane? Is that the same nitro that they use in remote control cars?

It is corrosive but with the right lube mixed with it and keeping the percentages very low as we do its fine and have seen no problems with pumps, lines, nozzles etc. Large doses can be a problem but it takes a massive amount.

We keep 5 gallons of pure nitromethane here . I also use the RC car fuel called Blue Thunder Sport Formula which is 20% nitro by volume by gallon. Its nice because it has a good amount of lube in it and is already mixed with straight meth. [b]You must cut it down with meth to get the nitro percent by volume down to the low side to start with and can slowly creep it up as much as the engine and combo will handle not recommending exceeding 8%. Its safe in small doses (3-5%) on near anything as long as your tune and AFRs are good to start with. Start with 1 quart of the Blue Thunder mixed with 1 gallon of straight meth in a two gallon container to mix which will 3-4%.

Curious about the setup that picked up that power.

I run rc airplanes, we got 15% and 20% I always wondered about adding some to the meth mix, Its already 100 alky and 15% nitro. So wouldnt see why it would not work. But i see what your saying only add a quart to a gallon. I run 60/40 meth to water, Wonder if it would work with the water in the equation? Does it smell like how the rc cars smell that would be awsome, imagine what the guy behind you would think when his nostirls got a wiff of that shit!
