That SRT actually has a stage 3 mopar upgrade (still stock turbo pretty much) I think... I believe I read this somewhere else, most likely on the srt4 part of this site.
If not, I'm sure he has an ATP or AGP turbo upgrade to do tha twell against a viper.
That Viper is a creampuff (2000 - 2002 model year). It was during those years that the engine specs were "de-tuned" due to no longer using forged pistons. Most creampuffs won't even dyno over 400whp.
If that true why did dodge keep the output rating at 450 bhp?
I checked my Liang Viper book when I got home and this is what he writes about the 2000’s…(same deal for 2001 and 2002).
“The 2000 model year saw a revised engine package to meet EPA requirements. This included a milder cam with 6 degrees less overlap; revised “high leakdown” lifters to smooth out idle; and lighter, stronger eutectic cast-aluminum pistons replacing the forged pistons.”
